To connect to an existing Wi-Fi network, follow the steps below:

1. On the Home screen, select Start > Comm Manager. This opens the Comm Manager screen.
2. Before engaging Wi-Fi, ensure that your mobile network is turned off.
3. Select the Wi-Fi icon. The Wi-Fi icon is then highlighted to indicate that Wi-Fi is turned on.

If a connection is not detected in 5-10 seconds, continue with the following steps:

1. Select Settings > Wi-Fi Settings to open the Wi-Fi Settings screen.
2. Select Wi-Fi to view a list of active Wi-Fi networks.
3. Select Gogo-Inflight from the list.
4. Select Connect to connect to the selected Wi-Fi network. Your device is connected to Gogo’s Wi-Fi access point when you see this icon in the upper right corner of your display.
5. To finish connecting to the Internet, return to the Home screen.
6. Select Start > Internet Explorer.
7. Open any website – your browser will be redirected to the Gogo sign-up page.
8. Sign up or sign in, get connected, and enjoy!

Prior to connecting to Gogo, you must ensure that Wi-Fi is turned on:

1. From the home screen, tap the Comm Manager icon on the lower right corner of the screen.
2. Before you turn on Wi-Fi, make sure your cellular radio is off.
3. Tap the Wi-Fi button to turn on/off the wireless function. The WLAN icon indicates the wireless status (hint: if your Wi-Fi is in the “on” position, turn it off then on again in order to auto detect networks in step 4):
   Wi-Fi is on
   Wi-Fi is off
4. Available wireless networks will be detected.

After Wi-Fi is turned on in Comm Manager, your device scans for available wireless networks.

To connect to a wireless network:

1. The network names of the detected wireless networks will be displayed on a pop-up message window. Tap Gogo-Inflight, then OK.
   
2. In the next pop-up window, tap The Internet.
   

Your Windows Mobile device will remember Gogo-Inflight the next time you turn on your Wi-Fi device.

It will take 5-10 seconds to connect to Gogo, but when successful, you’ll see this icon . To finish connecting to the Internet, follow these steps:

1. Use the Microsoft key to open the Start Menu > Internet Explorer.
2. Open any webpage; you’ll be redirected to the Gogo sign-in page.
3. Sign up or sign in, get connected, and enjoy!

To connect to a Wi-Fi network using a Windows Mobile 2003 device, follow the steps below:

1. Press the Microsoft key to open Start menu.
2. Select Settings > Connections > WLAN/Wi-Fi icon to open the Wireless LAN Manager.
3. Check the box for Wireless LAN ON.
4. The WLAN icon at the top of the screen should now have a halo and the Gogo Wi-Fi access point should be identified.
5. Select radio button for Gogo-Inflight; make sure the Internet radio button is also checked.
6. Select the Connect button.
7. You are now connected to the Gogo.

To finish connecting to the Internet, follow these steps:

1. Open Internet Explorer and access any page. You will be redirected to theGogo sign-up page.
2. Sign up or sign on, get connected, and enjoy!

In order to access Wi-Fi, follow the steps below:

1. Before starting, ensure that your device is in ‘offline’ mode (e.g. mobile network off). To do this, tap the power button and scroll down to offline and select.
2. On the Home screen, select the blue Wi-Fi icon.
3. Select Search for WLAN Network.
4. Select Gogo-Inflight SSID and connect using the left soft key.
5. If the browser does not open automatically, select the Main Menu key and open the browser.
6. Navigate to any web page. You will be redirected to the Gogo sign-uppage.
7. Sign up or sign on, get connected, and enjoy!

To connect to the Wi-Fi network on a BlackBerry® 8820 or BlackBerry® Curve™ 8320:

1. From the Home screen select the Manage Connections icon.
2. Disable the Mobile Network by deselecting the box, if necessary.
3. Check that the Wi-Fi box is checked.
4. Scroll down to Set Up Wi-Fi Network to enter the Wizard.
5. Click Next on Welcome to Wi-Fi Setup screen.
6. Click Scan for Networks.
7. Click on the “gogoinflight” open network.
8. To streamline connecting to Gogo next time, save this profile. Click Next.
9. You are now connected to Gogo.
10. To finish connecting to the Internet, click Wi-Fi Hotspot Login. Your browser is automatically directed to Gogo’s sign-in page.
11. Sign up or sign in, get connected, and enjoy!

To connect to Gogo on an Apple^® iPod Touch^®:

1. Turn on your Wi-Fi.
   • From the Home screen, tap Settings > Wi-Fi. Slide Wi-Fi to On.
2. Connect to the “gogoinflight” network.
   • Under Choose a Network, select “gogoinflight”. The Signal Strength icon at the top of the screen will indicate Wi-Fi is connected.
3. Open Safari to be redirected to the Gogo Portal. Simply sign up and surf!
   • Home > Safari > Refresh

1. At the lower left side of your device, slide the WLAN Switch upward to turn Wi-FI on, downward to turn Wi-Fi off. The icons on the switch represent the following:
2. Open the Comm Manager application using the switch on the side of your device.
3. Deactivate the cellular service by tapping the Phone icon.
4. Connect to the “gogoinflight” network. 
   1. Your device will scan for available wireless networks. Select the “gogoinflight” network in the pop-up window. 
   2. Tap OK to connect.
   3. On the next pop-up window tap The Internet.
5. Open Internet Explorer to be redirected to the Gogo portal. Simply sign up and surf!
   • Start > Internet Explorer > Refresh

To turn Wi-Fi on or off:

At the lower left side of your device, slide the WLAN switch upward. The icons on the switch represent the following:

To connect to Gogo:

1. After Wi-Fi has been turned on, your device then scans for available wireless networks. The network name Gogo-Inflight will display in a pop-up message window. Tap the wireless LAN and then OK.
   
2. In the next pop-up window, tap The Internet.
   

The next time you use your device to detect wireless networks, you will not see the pop-up message windows, unless you perform a hard reset.

From the Today screen simply tap the signal strength indicator (antenna with bars icon) and select turn on flight mode.

The exact navigation may vary on your device.

The Nokia N95 uses the term ‘offline’ to refer to a flight-mode-like state. When the device is in ‘offline’ mode, cellular connections are disabled. However, the WLAN and Bluetooth need to be deactivated separately.

1. Tap the power button on the top of the device quickly to open the menu.
2. Scroll down and select offline.
3. Push the end key until you arrive at the start/today screen select the WLAN/Wi-Fi icon and set it to WLAN scanning off.

Comm Manager acts like a central switcher that lets you enable or disable phone features as well as manage your data connections easily.

To open Comm Manager:

• Tap the Comm Manager icon on the Today screen; or
• Tap Start > Settings > Connections > Comm Manager.

Simply tap the Wi-Fi icon to toggle between turning your Wi-Fi connection on and off.

To turn on a wireless connection, follow the steps below:

1. On the Home screen, or in the application list, click Manage Connections.
2. Perform one of the following actions:
   • To turn on a wireless connection, select the checkbox next to the connection type.
   • To turn on all wireless connections, click Restore Connections.

   If your Wi-Fi network indicator is:

   Green

   Your device is using UMA or is connected to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server using a Wi-Fi® network.

   Yellow:

   Your connection to the Wi-Fi network is turned on, but your device is neither using UMA nor connected to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

   Red:

   Your connection to the Wi-Fi network is turned off.

When Airplane mode is on, it disables the wireless features of iPhone to avoid interfering with aircraft operation and other electrical equipment. Follow the steps below to turn Airplane Mode on:

1. From the Home screen choose Settings.
2. Make sure the airplane mode is on.
3. When you turn on Airplane Mode, appears in the status bar at the top of the screen.
4. No cell phone, radio, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth signals are emitted from iPhone.

You cannot:

• Make phone calls
• Send or receive email
• Browse the Internet
• Send or receive text messages
• Stream YouTube videos
• Get stock quotes
• Get maps locations
• Get weather reports

If allowed by the aircraft operator and applicable laws and regulations, you can continue to use iPhone to:

• Listen to music and watch video
• Listen to visual voicemail
• Check your calendar
• Take or view pictures
• Hear alarms
• Use the stopwatch or timer
• Use the calculator
• Take notes
• Read text messages and email messages stored on iPhone

Simply select the corresponding button to enable or disable a feature.

Select 3 to toggle between turning on or off Wi-Fi. Select Settings > Wi-Fi Settings to configure Wi-Fi on your phone. (Click here to find out how.)

A Wi-Fi icon is not displayed in the Connection Manager and Wi-Fi is deactivated in Flight Mode . You must manually switch both Cellular and Bluetooth off in the Connection Manager and then switch on Wi-Fi using the switch on the side of the phone.

On the ground, your mobile phone is likely in cellular coverage and able to access the Internet via your carrier’s cellular network. While airborne, your device should be placed in ‘airplane mode’ where the mobile radio is disengaged. If you have a supported (link) Wi-Fi equipped handset and you are on a Gogo-equipped flight, you will be able to connect to the Internet.

For starters, check the List of Supported Devices. Otherwise, many devices are Wi-Fi certified and carry the Wi-Fi logo from the Wi-Fi Alliance.

Additionally, you may open the device’s connection manager – which is an application used to modify the handset’s network connections and see if there is a reference to WLAN (wireless local area network), Wi-Fi, or 802.11. Typically the connection manager is located in a settings or applications folder.

Not all Blackberries are Wi-Fi enabled, and therefore not compatible with Gogo. For example, Gogo supports BB model 8820 and 8320. These are close cousins to the nearly identical looking BB models 8800 and 8300 respectively.

1. Press the Comm Manager icon on the side of the device to open the Comm Manager application.
2. Tap the Phone icon to disable cellular service.
3. In the Comm Manager application, tap the Wi-Fi button to turn on the Wi-Fi function. The Wi-Fi icon indicates the status of Wi-Fi.
   Wi-Fi is on
   Wi-Fi is off
4. Connect to the “gogoinflight” network.
   1. Your device will scan for available wireless networks. Select the “gogoinflight” network in the pop-up window.
   2. Tap OK to connect.
   3. On the next pop-up window tap The Internet.
5. Open Internet Explorer to be redirected to the Gogo portal. Simply sign up and surf!
   • Start > Internet Explorer > Refresh

1. Turn on your Wi-Fi. Go to Start > Settings > Connections Tab > Wireless Manager
   1. Toggle the Phone icon to off
   2. Toggle WLAN icon to on.
2. Connect to the ““gogoinflight”” network. 
   1. Your device will scan for available wireless networks. Select the “gogoinflight” network in the pop-up window.
   2. Tap OK to connect.
   3. On the next pop-up window select The Internet and tap Connect to continue
3. Open Internet Explorer to be redirected to the Gogo portal. Simply sign up and surf!
   • Start > Internet Explorer > Refresh

2. Tap on Wireless Manager.
3. Tap on Wi-Fi to enable Wi-Fi and tap Phone to disable cellular service.
4. Connect to the “gogoinflight” network.
   1. Your device will scan for available wireless networks. Select the “gogoinflight” network in the pop-up window.
   2. Tap OK to connect.
   3. On the next pop-up window, tap The Internet.
5. Open Internet Explorer to be redirected to the Gogo portal. Simply sign up and surf!
   • Start > Internet Explorer > Refresh

1. Turn on Wi-Fi by pressing the Wi-Fi button  on top of the Treo.
2. Connect to the “ gogoinflight ” network.
   1. The Treo will automatically scan for networks.
   2. ap the Wi-Fi icon  at the top of the screen.
   3. Select the “ gogoinflight ” network from the Configure Wireless Networks screen
   4. Tap “ Connect ”
   5. When “Connected” appears next to the “ gogoinflight ” network name you are ready to proceed to step 3.
3. Open Internet Explorer and sign in
   1. Return to Start > Internet Explorer
   2. Refresh your current web page to be automatically redirected to the Gogo Inflight sign in page. Otherwise enter http://airborne.gogoinflight.com to access the Gogo Inflight sign in page directly.

1. Turn on Wi-Fi.
   • Settings > slide Airplane Mode to on > tap Wi-Fi > slide Wi-Fi to on*
2. Select the “gogoinflight” network.
   1. The iPhone will automatically discover available networks
   2. Tap on “gogoinflight”
   3. Wi-Fi bars will be displayed at the top of screen indicating a connection
3. Open browser and sign in.
   1. Press Home button > Safari browser icon > refresh page if necessary
   2. Safari will be redirected to the Gogo Inflight portal
   3. Sign In, Sign Up, get connected and enjoy

1.Turn on Wi-Fi
        a) On the Home screen, scroll down to on the Shortcuts Bar, then select Manage Connections. 
        b) On the Comm Manager screen, deactivate the Phone (Mobile Network) and Bluetooth®. 
        c) Next, select the Wi-Fi icon. The Wi-Fi icon is then highlighted to indicate that Wi-Fi is turned on. 
2. Select the “gogoinflight” network
        a) After a few seconds, a message asks you if you want to see the list of available networks, 
           Select Yes. 
        b) In Select Network, press NAVIGATION left or right to choose the Wi-Fi network to connect to. 
        c) In Network type, select Internet and select Connect. 
       d) The Wi-Fi icon in the screen’s Title bar will look like this when connected to the Wi-Fi
            access point. 
3. Open the Internet Explorer browser and enjoy - you’re now online! 
        a) Open the browser: 
                      Start > Internet Explorer

Connecting with Windows XP:  
        1. Verify that Wi-Fi is turned on. This may be a physical switch on the side of your laptop. 
        2. Click on the Wireless Network Connection Status icon in the lower right corner of your screen. 
        3. Click View Wireless Connections. 
 
        4. Select the “gogoinflight” SSID.
 
        5. Open your browser; you will be redirected to our homepage if you do not have an active session.
 
From the Gogo homepage you may register as a new user, or log in as an existing user, and purchase service. When you have finished purchasing service you will be connected to the Internet.

Connecting with Windows Vista: 
 
   1. Verify that Wi-Fi is turned on. This may be a physical switch on the side of your laptop. 
   2. Right-click on the Network Status icon in the system tray, and select Connect to a network. 
   3. Select the “gogoinflight” network, and click Connect. You may be informed that the network
       is unsecured (not using WEP or WPA). Click Connect Anyway to proceed. 
 
Once the connection is complete, Vista will let you know that it has successfully connected to the network, and you can click Close to exit the connection window. 
 
From the Gogo homepage you may register as a new user, or log in as an existing user, and purchase service. When you have finished purchasing service you will be connected to the Internet.

 1. Using either the AirPort menu or the Internet Connect application, you can select a wireless
        network that is   in range. If AirPort is off, you will need to select Turn Airport On before
        you can proceed.
